The city of Oslo is also very rich in various thematic museums. Below is a list of the main ones, the links will take you to their official websites where you can find all the practical information. All of these museums are marked on the map above in this article.

Viking Ship Museum. A collection of ancient Viking boats and other archaeological finds from the Middle Ages.
Frahm Museum. Its main exhibit is a real 19th century ship built for polar expeditions. Visitors can go up on deck and visit the ship’s interior cabins. In addition, there is an exposition devoted to voyages to the Arctic and Antarctica.
Kon-Tiki Museum. Museum dedicated to the life of the Norwegian traveler Thor Heyerdahl and his crossing of the Pacific Ocean on the Kon-Tiki raft.
Norwegian Museum of Cultural History. A reconstructed Norwegian village showing the rural life of antiquity. On its territory there is also a relocated wooden church (starka) built around 1200.

Munch Museum. Dedicated to the Norwegian expressionist painter Edvard Munch, author of the famous painting “The Scream”.
Holmenkollen ski jump and skiing museum. A huge ski jump with a museum of skiing and skiing. You can take an elevator to the top of the ski jump, which offers a panoramic view of Oslo.
Nobel Peace Center. An exposition devoted to the work of Alfred Nobel and the prize named after him.
Museum of Natural History. A museum dedicated to the animal world with all kinds of installations, fossils and stuffed animals.
Norwegian technical museum. Museum of the history of development of machines and devices.
